Netflix has released the first trailer for Stranger Things 4 Volume 2. Yes, it almost feels like long ago since we last left the Hawkins kids in a battle against the Vecna (Jamie Campbell Bower), while the adults were on a mission to save Hopper (David Harbour) from a Russian Gulag. And after that terrifying cliffhanger that revealed the truth about this season’s latest villain, we are about to see what happens to our favorite characters in the final two episodes that run for a near four hours. So, can anything top the use of Kate Bush’s “Running Up That Hill?” What kind of new dangers await everyone in and out of Hawkins? And will Hawkins fall just as Dr Martin Brenner (Matthew Modine) predicts? Guess we will have to wait and see.
Of course, Vecna returns as this season’s main bad guy. But it will be interesting to see how the dynamics will change now that we know Eleven had something to do with Venca. Not only that, but it appears Nancy is in a bit of trouble now that she is cursed by the Dungeons and Dragons villain come to life. However, that won’t stop her friends Steve (Joe Keery), Robin (Maya Hawke), and Eddie (Joseph Quinn) from trying to save her. At least maybe we’ll get an explanation as to why Eddie makes that insane guitar riff.
Not only that, but it appears that Max (Sadie Sink) still needs to listen to Kate Bush’s “Running Up that Hill” to prevent the Vecna’s curse from activating again. The trailer also teases a fight between Lucas (Caleb McLaughlin) and the school jock Jason (Mason Dye).
And let’s not forget how Joyce (Winona Ryder) and Murray (Brett Gellman) finally reunite with Hopper but are still stuck in the Russian gulag with a demogorgon.
The epic 2-part season finale of Stranger Things 4 premieres July 1st, only on Netflix.
Here’s the official plot synopsis for the super-sized, epic conclusion of “Stranger Things 4 Volume 2:”
It’s been six months since the Battle of Starcourt, which brought terror and destruction to Hawkins. Struggling with the aftermath, our group of friends are separated for the first time – and navigating the complexities of high school hasn’t made things any easier. In this most vulnerable time, a new and horrifying supernatural threat surfaces, presenting a gruesome mystery that, if solved, might finally put an end to the horrors of the Upside Down.
