Jungle Cruise is the kind of Disneyland attraction that’s perfect for a big-screen telling. It has been a little over five years since Disney has released a film adaptation of one of its attractions. And now, the ride is getting ready to hit theaters later this may, with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Emily Blunt starring as a mismatched pair who are searching for an ancient tree that could change the world of medicine.
Jungle Cruise feels like a stylized throwback to classic action films a bit of African Queen thrown into the mix. Blunt and Johnson have shown how infectious their chemistry can be, both onscreen and off-screen. Of course, there are a lot of risks when it comes to creating a film based on a ride like Jungle Cruise. It is directed by Jaume Collet-Serra, and is based on a story by Glenn Ficarra & John Requa and Michael Green. The screenplay is by Glenn Ficarra & John Requa.
Overall, it looks like it will be a lot of fun.
Here’s the official plot synopsis for Jungle Cruise.
