I’ve been shopping at Best Buy for years! Best Buy is one of my go-to sources for the best tech gifts and holiday stocking stuffers. A Best Buy showroom is an all -in-one gift center which makes shopping for multiple people a breeze. I tend to be a last minute shopper so shopping online isn’t always time effective and when it comes to tech products. I prefer to see them in person. On a recent shopping trip, I had a few goals- pick out a couple of gifts that included a gift card, research laptops and look at tablets for my daughter.

A tablet is a fun and educational gift for kids. We are going on a family vacation and I’m considering buying a tablet for my daughter to keep her entertained during our travels. I was confident that Best Buy would have the latest models and brands, such as Kindle, Nook, Apple as well as carry brands that I was not familiar with such as brands such as nabi and Kurio. nabi seems to be geared towards kids with built in Wi-Fi, decent storage and drop safe bumpers. Being in the store gives me the opportunity to try out the products, compare features and price points. The Kindle Fire HD is currently on sale for $124.99. I like the Kindle FreeTime option which sets up profiles and time limits for your children. There’s always the LeapFrog Ultra ($149.99) option. The tablets now have Wi-Fi, built in MP3 and 8GB of storage… but what I like about the Kindle is that Mom can use it too!

Next on my to do list, laptops. Can you believe that I don’t have a laptop? I borrow my husband’s from time to time for when I’m traveling or attending conferences for my blog. I am an Apple girl all the way, but I’m not a fan of the price point. I checked out Toshiba, Sony and Asus while at Best Buy. I liked the compact size of the Asus VivoBook ($). It only weighs 4 lbs and it’s battery life was little longer than Tosiba Satellite ($). My only reason for not buying the Asus is that I’m not familiar with the brand. Doing research online helps. I can review product ratings, read customers input, etc. It’s safe to say that I need to do more research on the perfect laptop and I’m hoping that the prices will drop even lower as we get closer to Christmas.
