Sesame Street’s Cookie Monster Promotes Self-Regulation + Video Interview! @PBSKIDS

Can you believe that Sesame Street has launched it’s 44th season on PBS KIDS?! My husband and I grew up watching Sesame Street and now we get to watch it with our little girl!

Cookie Monster has always been a favorite for kids and adults. I think we can all relate to CM and his weakness for some sort of snack or food. This season, Cookie Monster takes a different approach to his obsession.

This season families will be treated to “Cookie’s Crumby Pictures”. All-new five minute segments featuring Cookie Monster will offer young children self-regulartion tips. It is important for preschoolers (and beyond) to learn skills to manage their emotions and actions. Like Cookie Monster, they can be impulsive (adults as well!) and need some guidance on how to show self-control. Cookie Monster will practice self-regulartion by not eating the cookie, waiting until later and to not give up! Each segment will parody popular movies (fun for parents!) while addressing challenges for our little ones.

Preschoolers and their parents need to check out the new Cookie Monster games on sesamestreet.org as well as PBSKIDS.org/Sesame.
