I love going away with my family, but sometimes a Girls Getaway is just want you need to unwind. You don’t have to go far to energize, it can be a relaxing stay-cation, or splurge and plan a road trip to Vegas for an exciting adventure. I recently traveled to Vegas for Cineamcon with a group of fabulous bloggers. This group of mom bloggers were a blast to hang with. We had the best time laughing over cocktail, and sharing stories. This adventure reminded me that time with friends is a necessity. We’re moms 24/7, and sometimes we just need a break, and we can’t feel guilty about it!
Here is my recipe for a Vegas recharge!
Plan to sleep and eat like an emperor.
Caesers Palace is the perfect hotel for a Vegas experience. The rooms are huge and nicely designed. I recommend a room in the Augustus towers versus the Julius towers. The rooms are close to the lobby/entrances. Premium rooms have a separate shower and bath. If you get a spa bathtub option – go for the jets! The restaurant selection at Caesers Palace is impressive. I ate at the Beijing Noodle No. 9. Delicious food and truly cool decor – we were surrounded by tanks of goldfish. I highly recommend ordering the green onion pancakes and beef brisket noodle soup. Bobby’s Flay’s Mesa Grill is another great choice for lunch or dinner. The chips and salsa and chopped salad made me a happy girl. I also can highly recommend the smoked Shrimp tacos with mango salsa toppings. Starbucks is located on the main floor, the pool rocks, window shop or take photos with a Greek statue. Also, you’re in Vegas. Take a chance on the slots. I’m kinda wimpy and usually only play $20. My friend spent $100 on penny slots and won $300+!!!
Leave your car at home.
I definitely recommend hiring car service for the night or use ride share. It’s the best way to get away and no one has to worry about being the designated driver.
Primp with your friends.
Our first stop on our girl’s night out was DryBar Las Vegas. I have to admit, I love getting my hair styled! I find it even more relaxing than a message. It’s the perfect pampering, and if you get a good stylist your hair will be bouncy during your entire getaway. DryBar is located at Miracle Mile Shops. Order a drink at the bar, hang with your best buds while singing along to the tunes the DJ is spinning.
Support celebrity chefs that you normally only see on the Food Network.
Next stop was Giada’s at The Cromwell Hotel Las Vegas. Celebrity chef Giada has made her mark on the strip. I promise you the only thing you’ll have to worry about is what to order here. The food is excellent. Here are some family style suggestions for sharing. Start off with arugula salad followed by Rigatoni and Bucatini. Both are fabulous pasta choices. For entrees the roasted chicken and filet were delicious options. Salmon is pan roasted with Golden beet puree & pistachio vinaigrette and was cooked perfectly. I am a big fan of Brussels sprouts. Do order a side of their fried sprouts. You will not be disappointed. Why not indulge? It is Vegas — order a place of desserts. You can’t go wrong with any of them. Don’t forget a bottle of wine. You’ll love sipping a nice glass of chardonnay while admiring the gorgeous views of Caesars and Bellagio hotels. Make sure to check out the wine menu and grab a few photos in the photo booth on the way out.
Kick back and find a classy cocktail.
The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas is home to The Chandelier. This multi-leveled bar is definitely eye-catching and a massive amount of Swarovski crystal. How’s that for bling? Sit back and watch as your surroundings sparkle while enjoying a finely crafted cocktail.
There are also plenty of shows to take in from Hard Rock Hotel’s new Magic Mike Experience to one of the many fabulous Cirque du Soleil shows. But don’t forget to hit up that rocking bathtub back at Caesars and slap a face mask on and maybe order a glass of wine. It’s so relaxing — just don’t fall asleep in the tub!
If you happen to be in Vegas for Mother’s Day make sure to catch Goldie Hawn and Amy Schumer in SNATCHED. It’s the perfect comedy to see with your mom or your besties! In theaters May 12, 2017!
