I’m proud to be working with CVS Pharmacy on the CVS Pharmacy Difference Campaign. All opinions expressed are my own, and all product claims or program details shared should be verified at CVS.com or with the appropriate manufacturers.
Oh boy, it’s that time of the year again. I was shopping at CVS this week, and the sale associate answered the phone with a very seasonal greeting “Good morning this is CVS, would you like a flu shot?” Well that’s one way to get straight to the point with folks!
I can’t believe that September is over, and we are flipping the calendar page to October this weekend. It certainly is time to think about getting my flu shot. Our family has suffered the dreaded flu, so we take our flu shots seriously. We do not want to relieve that positively awful family bonding time as we all experienced fevers, fatigue and aches together. For the past few years I dutifully schedule the kids’ appointments to get their flu shots with their pediatrician. But I’m a busy mom and getting in to see my provider is a major pain. I have to make an appointment weeks in advance, and then wait at least an hour in a waiting room. That’s why this year I’m headed to CVS Pharmacy at my local Target. Did you remember our earlier post about CVS and Target partnering up to have CVS Pharmacies within Target stores?
Well not that I even need more incentive to get my flu shot and shop the aisles of Target, but right now CVS Pharmacies in Target are offering a special promotion that earns you a $5 gift card when you stop by to get your flu shot there. I’ll take a gift card over a lollipop any day!
I’ve been impressed with how professional, quick and (almost) pain free the Pharmacist is when administering my flu shot. I’m not going to lie it’s still a needle, but its truly quick. I highly recommend wearing something easy to reveal your upper arm without having to undress since the flu shot areas are semi private. Basically it feels like a testing area so you are typically surrounded on only three sides. Depending on your store’s set up, it may be a situation where shoppers can walk by and see you getting your shot. The best part though is that I am able to be in and out within 15 minutes, and I can get my shopping errands complete on my way out.
Stay healthy and look into getting your flu shot this year! And don’t forget to sign up for their ExtraCare Rewards and Pharmacy and Health Rewards. CVS Pharmacy’s leading ExtraCare loyalty program and the opt-in ExtraCare Pharmacy & Health Rewards will allow patients to earn $5 in ExtraBucksRewards for every 10 prescriptions filled. Patients can also earn rewards for the other things they do to stay healthy, like getting immunizations or choosing email refill reminders. Convenient and earn money!
