Streaming services have made stay-at-home order life a bit easier to endure. Though they have offered binge-watching options, some have made it more fun by making it a party. And Netflix is offering a way for you to enjoy their teenage rom-com/coming of age film, The Half of It with a Watch Party Kit.
The Watch Party Kit includes recipes from renowned chefs Roy Choi, Niki Nakayama, and writer/director Alice Wu’s own “Comfort Food,” inspired by the film.
Directed by Wu, The Half of It centers on shy, straight-A student Ellie (Leah Lewis) is hired by sweet but inarticulate jock Paul (Daniel Diemer), who needs help winning over a popular girl. But their new and unlikely friendship gets complicated when Ellie discovers she has feelings for the same girl (Alexxis Lemire).
So watching the film with some comfort food is the best possible way to spend your time during the stay-at-home order. But if you are looking for more of an interactive experience, you can share Netflix’s pre-written love letters by simply filling in the blanks.
And what kind of teenage rom-com/coming of age film would it be without a great soundtrack? Netflix has provided a playlist featuring songs from the film, which you can hear on Spotify.
You can find all of the recipes and love letters “fill in the blanks” in the images below. Have fun.
