Disney has released the first trailer for “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.” The third film of the “Ant-Man” trilogy is a family affair for the Lang and Pym family as Scott Lang (Paul Rudd), Hope Van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly), Cassie Lang (Kathryn Newton), and Hank (Michael Douglas) and Janet Van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer) continues the explore the Multiverse as they are pulled into the Quantum Realm, where they encounter one of Marvel’s most fearsome adversaries Kang The Conqueror (Jonathan Majors).
Appropriately set against the sounds of Elton John’s “Good bye Yellow Brick Road,” we open with some of the playful humor that’s been attached to the Ant-Man film franchise, where Scott finds himself adjusting to life as an ex-con now Avenger who is often mistaken for Spider-Man. As the trailer progresses, we see Cassie is driven to help those in need after the events of “Avengers: Endgame.” As such, she has built a device that can communicate with those in the Quantum Realm. However, it is something that Janet advises against as it will bring untold dangers.
But before they can shut it all down, they are sucked into that world. Now separated, the two families must find a way to reunite and return home, all the while facing off against mysterious and new dangers. “There’s a secret universe beneath ours,” Janet says.
“What are you so afraid of,” Janet asks.
“There’s something I never told you,” Janet responds vaguely.
Soon, we see someone, presumably, Kang, insert a shiny orb into a device. “This place, it isn’t what you think,” Kang says, assuming the person he is talking to thinks they know about the Quantum Realm. The time-traveling villain says that he can get everyone home, but only if Ant-Man can help him. Help him with what remains unclear, but we have to assume that the titular hero refuses, considering what we saw during the D23 Expo, where Kang responds by slamming Scott into a wall and asking if he’s killed Scott before. This alludes to the fact that we may be dealing with another Kang-variant, just like the one we saw in the season finale of Loki.

Together, with Hope’s parents Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) and Janet Van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer), the family finds themselves exploring the Quantum Realm, interacting with strange new creatures and embarking on an adventure that will push them beyond the limits of what they thought was possible.
