STXfilms Uglydolls finally hits the big screen on May 3. Uglydolls live in Uglyville where they celebrate their weirdness and their differences! I personally feel they are totally adorable. Ugydolls have been a part of my life since my daughter was learning how to read! It’s cool to see the characters come to life in their first animated film.
The movie stars the acting and singing voices of Kelly Clarkson, Nick Jonas, Janelle Monáe, Blake Shelton and Pitbull. Moxy (voiced by Clarkson) and her friends go on a journey where they discover what real beauty is and how to come out of your comfort zone to show how awesome we all are!
To celebrate the film, I am creating a Moxy sugar cookie with my family! It’s fun to bake and create with your kids. Don’t worry if you don’t get it perfect. Exploring, making memories and of course, eating is what it’s all about!
I used a bagged mix for the sugar cookies. Follow the directions on how to prepare the cookies. I also used two cookie cutters from my collection- an oval shaped cutter and a small flower shaped cutter. First, use your oval-shaped cutter for the body. Then lightly make 3 indents for the hair with the flower cutter or cut this shape out with a knife. See photo below.
Bake the cookies at 350 for 5-7 minutes (again follow the instructions on the mix). Let the cookies completely cool before decorating. We bought “monster eyes” (or use frosting for your eyes) and kicked in our amazing decorating skills. What I love about our cookies is that they are funny and imperfect!
Enjoy!
