The Disney celebration for the Year of the Rooster kicks off at the Park on Friday, January 20 and will run until Sunday, February 5. If you’re keeping track, that’s 17 days longer than last year’s celebration! The event will be stacked with traditional food, a brand new nighttime water show featuring Mulan and Mushu, themed decorations, and more.
Throughout the day, guests will be able to enjoy authentic music and performances throughout the Park, while sampling specialty treats and beverages hailing from places like China, Korea, and Vietnam. Different areas of the park will also sport festive decorations, ornamental lanterns, and more.
Make sure to sign the wishing wall, catch “Mulan’s Chinese New Year Procession,” and look out for your favorite characters like Minnie, Mickey, Mushu, Mulan, and Chip ‘n Dale who’ll be wandering the park in special outfits. Special Lunar New Year-themed items will also be available in stores for the duration of the celebration.
The best way to cap off the night will be with the all-new nighttime spectacular at Paradise Bay ahead of World of Color. The six-minute show titled “Hurry Home” will be presented in water, and will feature a mix of animation and special effects. It follows the story of a Little Lantern on its way home to join its Lantern family, and will feature special appearances by Mulan and Mushu in special dream sequences inspired by Chinese paper cut-out style animation.
