What’s a princess animated without its mismatch pair of lovers between a human and a creature? Throughout the years, these kind of films have become so much more. And with the first trailer for “My Sweet Monster,” we get to see that story that tackles themes of industry vs nature.
Directed by Viktor Glukhushin, “My Sweet Monster” follows a rebellious Princess Barbara who flees from her kingdom on the way she is to wed the evil Bundy. On that same day, she meets Bogey, a semihuman creature whose kingdom is about to be destroyed by Bundy. Together, they work to stop Bundy from plundering the forest’s supply of magical and life-saving elixir.
While Lionsgate may not be known for its animated films, “My Sweet Monster” may be their way into the medium.
