Here is a super easy recipe for making cake pops. This recipe is a variation of a bunch of recipes. This was our first attempt at creating cake pops so we chose candy sprinkles for our embellishments! Cake pops are fun to make so get the kids involved. Looking for cake pop design ideas? Make sure to check out the recipe book Cake Pops by Bakerella (read our review here).
- 1 box cake mix (I like the kind with pudding in it)
- 2 bags Candy Melts
- 1 jar chocolate frosting
- lollipop sticks
- Styrofoam block (or a stand such as Cake Pop Stands)
- candy sprinkles
Bake the cake according to the directions. Crumble the cake into a large bowl and mix the entire contents of frosting in. Roll into ball shapes and put on wax paper. Refrigerate for a 2 hours (or longer). Melt the candy melts. Dip the stick in the melted candy then into the cake ball. The dip the cake ball into the melted candy. Decorate with sprinkles and stick it into the Styrofoam block. Enjoy!

I have seen these so many times and been afraid to try making them. I make such ugly (but okay tasting) food. Lol. you weren’t kidding, this does sound pretty easy. I am bookmarking it to try and maybe by the time daughter’s birthday gets here, in October, I will be somewhere near making decent looking pops. Lol. Thanks.
