Marvel Studios has had a mostly quiet 2024, with three Disney+ series two Disney+ shows (“Echo,” “X-Men ’97,” and Agatha All Along”) and one feature film (“Deadpool & Wolverine”) being released. That changes for the streaming service in a big way come 2025, with Marvel delivering some heavy hitting titles that include original titles like “Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man,” “Daredevil Born Again,” “Ironheart,” “Eyes of Wakanda,” “Marvel Zombies,” and “Wonder Man.” Plus returning favorites like “What If…?” and the debut of “Deadpool & Wolverine.”
To celebrate Marvel Television’s “Agatha All Along” finale, Disney+ unveiled an eye-popping “Look Ahead” teaser that reveals upcoming 2024-2025 Marvel Studios’ titles that will launch exclusively on the streamer in the months ahead.
Marvel Studios closes their 2024 with the streaming debut of “Deadpool & Wolverine.” The highest grossing R-rated movie of all time, comes to the small screen on November 12. It stars Ryan Reynolds as Wade Wilson aka Deadpool, and Hugh Jackman as Logan, aka The Wolverine. There are also a slew of other cameos that are so unexpected and out of left field, mentioning them by name would ruin the fun.
“What If…?” returns for its highly anticipated third and final season with daily episodes beginning on December 22. Based on the Marvel Comics series of the same name, explores alternate timelines in the multiverse that show what would happen if major moments from the films of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) occurred differently.
2025 starts sets the bar high with its debut of “Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man” joins Marvel Animation’s lineup on January 29, 2025. Marvel Animation Studios newest series explores an alternate timeline where Norman Osborn becomes Parker’s mentor instead of Tony Stark. Hudson Thames voices the eponymous webslinging hero, with Colman Domingo voicing Norman Osborn. Charlie Cox will voice Matt Murdox aka Daredevil. Although, it’s not likely that this is the same Daredevil that we will see in “Daredevil Born Again.”
Speaking of which, after having a three season run on Netflix, the Man without Fear makes his way onto Disney+ in “Daredevil Born Again.” The live-action series stars Cox as the titular hero who brings a more grounded and gritty tone to the MCU. This also marks the first time that Daredevil has appeared for his own series after making appearances in “Spider-Man: No Way Home” and “She-Hulk.” The trailer also teased the return of Daredevil’s nemesis, Kingpin (Vincent D’Onofrio), who reemerged in “Hawkeye” and “Echo.” So it should be interesting to see how all of this ties in.
Dominique Thorne reprises her role as Riri Williams in “Ironheart,” an original, live action series from Marvel Television, which debuts on June 24, 2025. The technological progidy who is just as sharp and witty as Tony Stark, maybe even smarter and wittier, first appeared in “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.” Now with her own series, we get to see her journey to being a hero where she will face off against the likes of Parker Robbins, aka The Hood (Anthony Ramos), a man who befriends Riri with promises of helping fund her projects but turns out to be a villain who tinkers with the dark arts.
“Eyes of Wakanda,” a four-part mini series event, is a “Black Panther” spinoff debutting on Disney+ on August 6, 2025. The animated series is set in the past and explores history of Wakanda but also expands into the greater MCU at different time periods.
Just in time for Halloween, “Marvel Zombies” makes its debut on October 2025. The series is a more expansive verison of the “What If…? episode that fans saw in season one.
Finally, “Wonder Man” original, live-action series is poised to release in December 2025. The series sars Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as budding actor Simon Williams “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings” director Destin Daniel Cretton directs two episodes and develop it with series creator and showrunner Andrew Guest. In the trailer, we see Williams audition for the role of Wonder Man. He says he was born to play this character and is seen alongside Trevor Slattery (Ben Kingsley) a washed-up actor who has appeared in “Iron Man 3” and “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.” The man appears to be an acting coach who has to remind Simon that they both have a lot riding on the audition and that he better not mess this up.
