IT’s Eco-friendly: Freak-O-Bags Review and Giveaway

The days of paper and plastic are coming to an end. These days more people than not bring their own reusable bags to the market. I know I do (when I can remember them). I love having an assortment of different designs to flaunt while I am lugging my groceries. I found the “coolest” reusable bags that I have seen. They are called freak-o-bags by Kamibashi. The name should tell you something.

Freak-O-bags are reusable bags, handmade and designed by the Koonin Family in Thailand or by North Carolina Artist, Julie Armbruster. These fairtrade, 16×16 tote bags come with an attached creature with a clip. What starts off as your own adorable (sometimes a bit freaky) pet converts into a reusable bag. When you’re done just stuff it back in and clip it wherever you like for next time. There are currently 12 creatures to choose from ranging from things like a vampire owl to a walking dog. Prices range from $15 -$20.

I was sent the Yellow Monster with Horns (retails for $15) freak-o-bag to review. I clipped it on my keychain and used it right away! I have received so many comments on the bag-people asking what it is and where I got it. My favorite thing about the bag (besides it originality) is the clip so I can clip it wherever I like so I am sure not to forget it when running out of the house. The bag is a good size so I can fit a lot in it which saves me from making a million trips to the car for my bags!

Kamabashi, the company that makes freak-o-bags, has some other truly unique products. They have a line a plush keychains with large beaded mouths called blabbos. My very favorite and my new obsession is their String Doll Gang. These are 2-3 inch handmade character string dolls that have their very own power that is always positive and helpful. There are over 100 different characters to choose from and the entire net profits from the newest member, Ganbare Bear, are donated to the Japanese Red Cross!
