Disney is weeks away from debuting “Ahsoka,” their latest live-action Star Wars series, exclusively on Disney+. But before it hits streaming, the studio has something very cool planned for subscribers. In celebration of the premiere of Lucasfilm’s “Ahsoka,” Disney+ subscribers in the U.S. will receive special access to exciting merchandise on shopDisney from August 23 – 31, 2023 to purchase hotly anticipated items from the franchise before the general public.
Having made her debut in the very popular “Clone Wars” animated series, Ashoka has grown into a fan-favorite character in the Star Wars community. And fans were excited to see how Dave Filoni brought her character to life when Rosario Dawson played the live-action verison of the character in “The Mandalorian.”
As for the exclusive merch, there is a little bit of something for everyone who has watched Ahsoka become the independent lightsaber-wielding freedom fighter that she is now. And that includes actual lightsabers. U.S. Disney+ subscribers will be granted early access to products including the Ahsoka Legacy Saber Set, all-new adult and youth Ahsoka fleece and t-shirts, a Star Wars Chopper (C1-10P) Interactive Remote Control Astromech Droid toy, collectibles including an Ahsoka bust, pin, and mug, and more (while supplies last)!
During this special window, eligible subscribers can visit www.shopdisney.com or navigate to the Shop tab within the details pages of the series on Disney+ to scan QR codes or click on a link that will take users directly to the merchandise on shopDisney. The Shop tab will be available to Disney+ primary profiles in the U.S. that have been verified as 18 and older.
Set after the fall of the Empire, “Ahsoka” follows the former Jedi Knight Ahsoka Tano as she investigates an emerging threat to a vulnerable galaxy. That threat includes the return of Grand Admiral Thrawn (Lars Mikkelsen) – the cold and calculated military leader of the fallen Empire. Rebel fans will see some familiar faces like the artistic Mandalorian Sabine (Natasha Liu Bordizzo), the ace pilot Hera (Mary Elizabeth Winstead), and the brave Jedi knight Ezra (Eman Esfandi), as well as canterkerous droid Chopper, while Ray Stevenson, Ivanna Sakhno, Diana Lee Inosanto, and David Tennant join the series as villains and allies.
The episodes are directed by Dave Filoni, Steph Green, Peter Ramsey, Jennifer Getzinger, Geeta Vasant Patel and Rick Famuyiwa. Dave Filoni is the head writer and executive produces along with Jon Favreau, Kathleen Kennedy, Colin Wilson and Carrie Beck. Karen Gilchrist serves as co-executive producer.
“Ahsoka” will premiere Wednesday, August 23, 2023, only on Disney+.
