I consider my two dogs family members. We’ve had them both since they were mere pups! My Yorkshire Terrier, Nigel, is now 13-years-old while my Affenpinscher mix, Sable, turns 9 this summer. Both dogs are extremely special to me but I have to admit that I have a soft spot for my Yorkie. He was a gift from my husband after my mom had died of cancer in 2009. The new family addition helped my mourning process. He’s now a senior dog and he’s slowed down quite a bit but he’ll always be my first “baby”.
What I love about dogs is their unique character, loyalty and unconditional love. I’ve taken many photos of the dogs over the years but I’ve always wanted a nice piece of work to dedicate to my Nigel. I was extremely interested in learning more about the beautiful prints created by Leonardo’s Dogs. Their website showcases unique artwork of various breeds of dogs, cats as well as horses. They graciously sent me a Yorkshire Terrier print and I adore it. My print arrived rolled up in a packing tube and was in perfect condition. I couldn’t help but to AWWW at the print when I saw the precious face of the Yorkie. The artwork has descriptions of the breed and there are variations of the print available in English or Italian text. Two details that immediately stood out to me when I unrolled the print were the affectionate stare and the characteristic head tilt of a Yorkie. The print depicts features of a Yorkie perfectly. The dark gazing eyes of the Yorkie that I know so well!
