As I have gotten older, with the constant use of computers, mobile devices, and gaming, I have noticed that eye strain has become more prevalent over the years Since switching from glasses to contact lenses a few years ago, my eyes have become drier as well. I was looking forward to trying out the GUNNAR Optiks x Call of Duty Ghost Edition glasses. The glasses feature military-inspired aviator frames made of a premium polymer material, stainless steel temples, and sturdy multi-barrel hinges with two lens options. GUNNAR’s iconic amber lenses and a new state-of-the-art Amber Sun-Shift lenses transition from amber to a sunglass tint in just a few seconds.

These glasses block harmful blue light and 100% UV light, using GUNNAR patented lens technology. Another feature is the G-Shield Plus lens coating: anti-reflective, smudge-resistant & oleophobic.

If you are a Call of Duty fan, then you will really like the cool COD collector’s glasses case, which looks like a wooden supply crate. Also included is a COD collector’s microfiber pouch and cleaning cloth. A bonus digital in-game item card is included (Supply crate and digital in-game item available while supplies last).

These have been out since October 2024, but I’ve only been using them since May of this year. I started off by wearing them during the evening hours, as my eyes would become drier during late-night computer usage and gaming sessions. During the few weeks after, I have noticed that my eyes and contacts are not getting dry like before.
The lenses have a slightly yellowish tint to them, which seems to mellow out the brightness of my monitors and the fluorescent lighting of the room. My eyes feel a lot more relaxed and focused when using them, and I noticed that the type looks a lot sharper when reading. Maybe the only issue I seem to have is that my eyes would need to adjust to the light when I took them off after using them for an extended period of time, much like when I wear sunglasses.

It did take me some time to incorporate them into my daytime computer activities, as I never really had any issues during the daytime hours. However, after using them, I realize that might not have been the case, as I do notice a difference.
Keep in mind that these glasses may not be for everyone, and it may take some getting used to. However, I would definitely give them a try if you are having issues with eye strain, eye fatigue, headaches, and dry eyes. Even if you do not need these types of glasses or just like the look of the frames, many, if not all, of them are available as sunglasses and prescription lenses.
