Apple TV+ has released a brand new clip for season two of Severance. The acclaimed series comes from the mind of Dan Erickson, with episodes directed by Ben Stiller and Aoife McArdle. It stars Michael Scott as Mark Scout, an employee of the fictional corporation Lumon Industries who agrees to a “severance” program in which his non-work memories are separated from his work memories.
In “Severance,” Mark Scout (Scott) leads a team at Lumon Industries, whose employees have undergone a severance procedure that surgically divides their memories between their work and personal lives. This daring experiment in “work-life balance” is called into question as Mark finds himself at the center of an unraveling mystery that will force him to confront the true nature of his work… and of himself. In season two, Mark and his friends learn the dire consequences of trifling with the severance barrier, leading them further down a path of woe.
In the clip, Mark returns to the cold florescent offices of Lumon Industries where he is welcomed by new cube mates Mark W (Bob Balaban) and unnamed characters played Alia Shawkat and Stefano Carannante. While Mark W tells Mark S that he is opened to using different names, Mark S is more focused on figuring out what is going on and who these people are. That’s when Mr. Milchick (Tramell Tillman) walks in with a warm and welcoming smile armed with blue balloons with Mark Scout’s face on it and tells him: “Welcome Back, Mark S. It’s been a minute.”
Of course, the clip fades to black but it leaves many fans wondering where this all leads.
The series also stars Zach Cherry, Britt Lower, Tramell Tillman, Jen Tullock, Dichen Lachman, Michael Chernus, John Turturro, Christopher Walken, and Patricia Arquette.
“Severance” season two is also executive produced by John Lesher, Jackie Cohn, Mark Friedman, Beau Willimon, Jordan Tappis, Sam Donovan, Caroline Baron, Richard Schwartz, and Nicholas Weinstock. In addition to starring, Adam Scott and Patricia Arquette serve as executive producers. Fifth Season is the studio.
“Severance” season 2 is scheduled to debut its first episode on Friday, January 17, followed by new episodes every Friday through March 21.
