Universal Studios Hollywood is the place to be this holiday season. Now through Jaunary 9th visitors can enjoy Christmas in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter and Grinchmas celebration! We were sad that the park was closed last year as visiting during the Christmas season has turned into an annual tradition and we were dazzled by the spectacular display of Christmas cheer in Who-ville!
Here are my favorite things to do at the park:
Calling all Wizards, Witches, and Muggles – Christmas in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is back at Universal Studios Hollywood! How we missed, “The Magic of Christmas at Hogwart’s Castle!” The event takes place in the evening where the castle comes alive with cool imagery projected against the majestic backdrop of Hogwarts castle. The show happens every half hour starting at 5:30. Queue up early and definitely take advantage of shorter ride lines for Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey!
Sip on your warm butterbeer, served at Three Broomsticks, before you head to the lighting of the towering 65 foot crooked “Grinchmas” tree. The Grinch and his loyal companion, Max are available for photo opportunities along with other Who-ville Whos! It makes the perfect holiday photo!
Other things to do while at the park is enjoy the newest Universal Studios ride Life of Pets. Or dare to get wet on the Jurassic World Ride. If your feet are tired, then head to the Studio Tram Tour for a fun journey around the historic Universal lot.
If you are like me, you love to eat! I saw someone walk by with a giant Bavaraian Pretzel and I had to track it down. There are a few places to find it and I ordered one from the City Snack Shop located on the upper lot. I hate to admit, my eyes were bigger than my stomach and I wound up sharing this snack with my family.
Other treats to look out for are the desserts and drinks! The gingerbread cupcake from the French Street Bistro is really yummy. If you’re looking for a seasonal alcholic beverage head to Universal Snack Tower Bar for a Spiked Hot Cocoa or Holiday Eggnog.
