As a child, one of my favorite candy store treats was candy jewelry. My goal was to wear it all day without eating it. Regrettably, that never happened. One by one my candy “beads” would disappear until I was left with a sticky string stuck to my neck or wrist. Although I did outgrow candy jewelry I have found a fun solution! Check out these necklaces and bracelets with colorful ceramic beads that look just like the candy jewelry of my yesteryear. All deliciously made by KanDi World.
KanDi World was launched in 2011 by former fashion student and candy lover, Dani Kates. In 2004 she decided she was going to bring back the candy necklace for not only herself but for all the girls who never outgrew their love of sweets! As Dani says, “Once upon a time it was okay to eat candy necklaces and lick sticky ring pops. But unfortunately when you hit a certain age, sucking on jewelry is just not cool anymore.” Her necklaces were a huge hit among celebrities such as Mischa Barton, Hayden Panettiere and even Fergie! Dani finished her degree at Parsons School of Design and decided to expand on her jewelry and include necklaces, bracelets and a line of candy inspired bikinis.
Dani was “sweet” enough to send me a Heart Charm KanDi Bracelet to review. It arrived with in a plastic bag with it’s own “nutrition label”.
The bracelet is a high quality Candy-colored ceramic beaded bracelet with sterling silver and pavé cubic zirconium heart charm. The dramatic colors make the beads look so much like candy that I could almost eat it! One added perk is that I can wear it all day and not end up with a sticky wrist from melting candy! It is such a fun bracelet to wear and has sparked many conversations! Both my 3 year old and 16 year old have been begging me to let them wear it!
The bracelets range from $14 for the ceramic beaded version to $32 for the bracelet with a charm. The necklaces with a charm retail for $42 and a bit steeper price of $185 for a necklace with a white gold and pavé-set diamond heart or flower pendant. These prices are very reasonable for such great quality and design. These would make a great addition to any Easter Basket for both young and old!
