Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde return in “Zootopia 2,” facing relationship therapy and a venomous new mystery that tests their partnership in the animal metropolis’s most thrilling adventure yet.

Nearly a decade after their big-screen debut, Judy Hopps (Ginnifer Goodwin) and Nick Wilde (Jason Bateman) return in the first trailer for “Zootopia 2.” But this time, their iconic partnership is showing cracks. Ordered into “Partners in Crisis” counseling by Chief Bogo (Idris Elba), the duo is forced to confront their personal baggage—just as they’re handed a high-stakes new case.
That case? A slithery mystery involving Gary (voiced by Ke Huy Quan), a venomous new arrival whose presence threatens to unravel the fragile balance of the animal metropolis. The trailer hints at classic buddy-cop chaos, but with an emotional edge. Judy dominates the therapy sessions, nervously tapping her foot while talking over Nick—whose sarcastic detachment only deepens the rift between them.
As the tension simmers, the film promises a deeper dive into Zootopia itself, showcasing fresh environments and introducing new animal residents, including a boundary-challenged armadillo and their very uncomfortable bear partner, and a tiny elephant-mouse pair with major size issues. Joining the voice cast are Fortune Feimster as Nibbles and Quinta Brunson as the upbeat quokka therapist Dr. Fuzzby.
Fan favorites return as well, including Shakira as Gazelle, Raymond S. Persi as DMV sloth Flash, Maurice LaMarche and Leah Latham as shrew crime duo Mr. Big and Fru-Fru, and familiar faces like Bonnie Hunt, Don Lake, Nate Torrence, Jenny Slate, Alan Tudyk, Josh Dallas, and Tommy Chong.
“It’s been an absolute joy to reteam with so many actors who made the first film so special, and so exciting to expand the world with our phenomenal new cast members,” said director and writer Jared Bush, who also serves as chief creative officer for Walt Disney Animation Studios. “I can’t wait for audiences to see what other surprises we have in store in this brand-new adventure.”
“Zootopia 2” opens in theaters on November 26, 2025.
