This February 19 I’ll be on a red-eye flight from LAX to Orlando. Why fly so far and so late? Orlando is where I’m meeting up with 24 fabulous bloggers from across the USA for one wild Zootopian-adventure! Zootopia (in theaters March 4th) is Disney’s latest animation and I can’t think of a better place for the film’s junket to be held than Disney World.
This is an absolute “bucket list” trip as many of the Disney World stops will be new to me. We’ll visit Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Magic Kingdom (of course!), Disney’s Hollywood Studios plus we will interview stars from the movie! Zootopia stars Jason Bateman and Ginnifer Goodwin and is directed by Byron Howard & Rich Moore!
Here are a few items from our Zootopia itinerary and my Disney Bucket List:
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge will be home away from home for the duration of our trip. I have my fingers and toes crossed that a majestic animal will graze under my window! Picture falling asleep with the window open to the sounds of whatever is out there!? We’ll also dine at Boma that features flavors from Africa. Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge will also be where the movie press junket will take place.
Our group will go on the Backstage Safari Tour where we will have breakfast and then take a journey to find out what happens behind-the-scenes at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park! During this in-depth program, we will get an insider’s look at conservation, animal nutrition and medicine, animal care and behavioral studies. Highlights will include visits to the backstage animal housing area, the Animal Nutrition Center, the Veterinary Hospital and an experience on Kilimanjaro Safaris! Lions, giraffes and elephants…Oh my! How exciting!!
I’ll feel close to my real home at Disney’s Hollywood Studios! I live in Hollywood and entertainment is a big part of my site as well as life! Disney’s Hollywood Studios plays homage to show business! I can’t wait to walk down Hollywood Blvd and step through the Chinese Theater for the Great Movie Ride! We’ll have dinner at the Hollywood Prop Shop. Topping off our Disney visit would not be complete without a fireworks display. I’m sure “Symphony in the Stars: A Galactic Spectacular” fireworks will not disappoint because face it- Disney firework displays are the most spectacular I have seen!
I haven’t been to the Magic Kingdom since 1999. I’m excited to see all of the changes and gaze at the Cinderella Castle at the end of Main Street. My visit will definitely be a nostalgic one as my annual family trips as a kid were spent here. One of the highlights of our visit will be eating at the ever-so-popular Be My Guest restaurant. Yolanda from sassymamainla made that happen!
And of course none of this would be possible if it weren’t for Zootopia!! The group will prep for our celebrity interviews by taking in an exclusive screening. I can’t wait for this flick! I adore Justin Bateman (Horrible Bosses, Bad Words) and I’m looking forward to talking to him about his role as smooth-talking, con-artist “Nick Wilde”, who happens to be a fox in the movie. The lovely Ginnifer Goodwin (Once Upon a Time) voices the first-ever bunny cop named Judy Hopps. Judy is enthusiastic, persistent and eternally optimistic. I have a feeling that Ginnifer is a lot like her character!
