It all started with a mouse. Mickey Mouse to be precise. And now, Disney+ returns to its roots with a series of brand new shorts that follow the adventures of our favorite mouse. The studio has released a brand new trailer and announced a release date for “The Wonderful Winter of Mickey Mouse.” The four episode season are each themed to each of the four seasons, winter, spring, summer, and autumn. And just by the title alone, you can see that it all starts with Winter.
As the trailer hints, there will be plenty of wintery fun for Mickey and his friends as they will play in the snow, go on cabin retreats, go on romantic ice skating escapades, and ski some slopes, wear plenty of coats, and even ride a fish. This winter debut is sure to be silly and chilly.
The series is also a callback to the animation styles of the classic Mickey shorts, but also blends in modern techniques to keep things fresh. And honestly, i love what director Paul Rudish brings to these new wave of Mickey shorts, especially since I am a fan of the originals.
