Thanks to Hollywood Bowl for inviting us!
The “worlds biggest movie theater”, the Hollywood Bowl, is the best way to take in your favorite movie titles! My daughter and I had a roaring good time as Jurassic Park was featured on the very big screen. The movie does a great job of making you feel that dinosaurs are real. I was waiting for a T Rex to pop through the trees surrounding the Bowl! And this was the first time seeing Jurassic Park for my daughter- what a unique way to experience it!
Steven Spielberg’s 1993 hit Jurassic Park stars Sam Neill, Laura Dern, Richard Attenborough and Jeff Goldblum. The musical score, composed by John Williams, was performed by the Los Ángeles Philharmonic and conducted by David Newman. John Williams’s iconic theme from Jurassic park filtered through the venue and like the movie, it was colossal!
Jurassic Park is an action-packed thriller that is a blast for fans of dinosaurs of all ages. I can’t see what would go with an amusement park filled with dinosaurs on Isla Nublar! The film is exhilarating for kids as well as adults. Dinosaurs have always mystified people. It would be amazing to know what it was like to walk the earth 65,000,000 years ago! The effects were pretty cool for 1993 and they weren’t overly cheesy like some films of that time can be.
I always recommend arriving early on Movie nights at the Bowl. Beginning at 5:30, pre-concert activities included the Natural History Museum on hand with displays of replicas of dinosaur fossils. You could take photos with vehicles inspired by the cars featured in Jurassic Park the movie. Every screening offers fun themed moments to enhance your evening.
Since the Bowl is food and drink friendly, we packed a picnic with dinosaur themed foods and snacks. We purchased cool dinosaur-shaped cookies from Gelsons. Inside the Bowl seating, I noticed adults in dinosaur hats and a group celebrating a birthday with paper dinosaur paper hats. This was definitely a fun movie night for family and friends!
Make sure to bring a light sweater, it can get chilly once the sun goes down!
