Mom & Mini Critics Thoughts – I liked having one DVD that gave me 8 different shows to select since I primarily use DVDs for our weekend car trips. This compilation keeps both my 4 year old daughter and two year old son happy in the backseat – she is a fan of both Barney and Angelina and he picks Fireman Same over and over again. The Barney episode teaches kids the seven days of the week and the music is sort of catchy. My kids have been singing it days after watching the Barney episode.  All three of us are fans of Kipper the dog when we are in a mellow mood. The music and very deep mature voices of some of the Kipper characters are a perfect way to decompress after a sugar-fueled ice cream stop.

Mom & Mini Critics Thoughts – Fireman Sam is the most talked about hero in our household lately. Both my son and daughter find the episodes engrossing and funny. They like to recreate the rescue scenes and take on the roles of Sam, Elvis and Penny in their games. I use Fireman Sam to caution them against playing in the kitchen while I cook. The shows does a good job of finding a happy medium between explaining the dangers of fire and smoke without really scaring them.
