My daughter really wanted a new camera for her recent 17th birthday. She would have loved a DSLR but my bank account just wasn’t feeling the same love! I researched the perfect point and shoot cameras for her. When I came across the Samsung Dualview I knew that this camera was IT! One thing for certain my teen takes a lot of “self portraits.” Seriously, she takes them everywhere we go! I purchased the Samsung Dualview 16 Megapixel PL170, which retails for $199.99, based on my daughter’s picture-taking habits.

The dual screen feature allows you to take pictures of yourself by using the LCD screen on the front as a guide. Brilliant! No more guessing or taking photos of yourself with half a head or someone cut out of the image. Kaleigh has been very impressed with the camera so far. It has a nice amount of photo effects that she has been experimenting with. The compact size allows her to carry around in her pocket or bag where ever she goes.
Teen’s Thoughts:
I love taking pictures and I love the Samsung PL170. It is one of the coolest cameras I have ever had, and I’ve had a lot of cameras. All of my friends think it’s awesome too! It takes really great pictures and has some really neat effects. It even has a screen in the front, which is why I love it so much. I like to take a lot of pictures of myself.
My favorite effect the camera has is the half tone dot effect. I love the cool results.

The camera has 16 different scene settings. The settings are super-easy to figure out how to use. Do you have a hard time getting your kid’s attention? There’s also a Children’s Setting where a cartoon appears on the front screen and plays music. Perfect for when I am trying to take a picture of my little sister! The Samsung Dualview PL170 comes with a battery and battery charger so I don’t have to worry about constantly replacing batteries.
