My Thoughts: I get excited whenever PBS releases new apps, not just because we are PBS Kids VIP’s, but because I know that the app will be both educational, fun and age appropriate for my daughter. PBS Kids is committed to making positive impacts in children’s lives by using educational content and positive role models. For that reason I trust PBS, as a Parent and as a Preschool Teacher. I know that I can safely share anything with the PBS Kids seal with my children or children at school. The brand new Dinosaur Train Classic in the Jurassic, Jr! app provides three different games that help preschoolers build math skills. My five year old daughter tried it out and after playing all three games she kept going back to the Bridge Builder game. She enjoyed measuring the length and then figuring out which log set would get her dinosaur to the other side. In addition to playing the app, kids can continue the Classic in the Jurassic, Jr adventures with seven free math games online! This app is perfect for ages 3 and up.

My thoughts: The Electric Company app is geared towards kids around 6-7 or 1st or 2nd grade. It is a great multiplayer game. Adeline was a little too young to play it on her own but when we played together she enjoyed it. She loved that it was like a real board game where you spin the spinner and move on a virtual game board. This game would make a great classroom game for 1st graders. Fun and educational. Doesn’t get much better than that.
That’s IT Mom Erika
