Who doesn’t love a good meal deal? Especially when the food choices are interesting, delicious, and heartwarmingly satisfying?
With eight locations in Southern California, Stonefire Grill is my new favorite lunch destination because of its 7 for $7 lunchtime menu, the perfect combination of flavor and flare at a fine price.
The fast-causal restaurant has an already extensive lunch and dinner menu, so I’m glad they pared it down for me. Too many options make my head spin! The lunchtime specials are served 11am – 2pm during the week and feature combinations of signature salads, soup, sandwiches and pizzas. Non-alcoholic beverages are $1.49.
Learning that all salads come with homemade dressings, I opted for the Cartwheel salad that combines veggies with garbanzo beans in a light and refreshing cilantro vinaigrette. Why Cartwheel? Maybe eating the salad gives you energy to cartwheel!? Chicken, tri-tip, salmon or quinoa can be added to the salad options.
I sampled my husband’s side dish of cowboy beans that accompanied his pulled pork sandwich which he deemed mouth-watering good with a tangy and sweet sauce. Wow! His cowboy beans were spiced with cumin and not the traditional molasses. A yummy surprise.
The green glow of the pesto pasta is mesmerizing, just like how this creamy and rich basil dish tastes. This pasta dish may be simple, but it’s filling and oh-so satisfying!
With so many pizza parlors out there, how does Stonefire’s pizza rank? Far-out fantastic. Jim especially liked the light chewy crust and spicy pepperoni. Again, the pizza was simple, but it was prepared with honest flavor, homemade taste and fresh goodness.
Even though desserts aren’t on the 7 for $7 lunch menu, we indulged in Stonefire’s carrot cake, a three-layer made-from-scratch delight. The secret ingredient? Crushed canned pineapple.
All in all, Stonefire Grill’s new lunch menu presents tasty options in a fun environment. Once you have sampled all seven, you may want to start all over again!
