I would like to think that I was “glowing” through my pregnancy. I attribute that, in part, to keeping up a regular exercise routine and getting (whenever possible) lots of sleep. While that was a bit more difficult during my 2nd pregnancy (the sleeping part especially), there were other items that were a HUGE help in getting me through some of the rough patches. Here’s our collaborative list of some must-haves for Mommy’s-To-Be, along with a few products that are just plain fun!
Baby Bargains Book— This book has everything you will ever need. It has sections for baby gear which was invaluable to me. I passed it along to friends who swore by it, too!
Back Support: This one by Scott Specialities, Inc. is a clear winner. For me, managing lower back pain was off and on during each of my pregnancies. This is by far the best support on the market. And hey, I’m a physical therapist that specializes in this sort of thing, so I should know!
Meditations for Pregnancy: 36 Weekly Practices for Bonding with Your Unborn Baby: by Michelle Leclaire ONeill – best book ever, I tell all my prego friends and family to get it. Includes a CD too.
Comfy shoes: Being pregnant through the summer just got a little easier. Sanuk Yoga Mat Flip Flops are perfect for swollen summer feet.
Belly Buds: File these under “just plain fun”. Like earphones for your belly-these bellyphones allow you to share music or your own voice with your baby-to-be anywhere. They have a safe, fixed max volume and the buds will conform to your ever-changing curves. And, they’ll make a great photo-op for those maternity pictures you’ll be taking.
Skincare: If ever there was a time in your life to devote to your skin, it’s while you’re pregnant! I loved Basq Skin Care during my 2nd pregnancy. It’s safe to use during pregnancy and feels oh-so-nice on your growing belly.
Tummy Tube: from A Pea in the Pod is a fabulous device that lets you wear your pre-maternity pants longer, gives more support to your maternity jeans, and gets you back into your pre-maternity sooner! I’m sold.
Pregnancy Planner: We like this one from the editors of Parenting Magazine. Packed with useful info and lots of space for journaling your own pregnancy adventure. The section on health is also a key feature, with a handy guide of which seafood is safe (and how much).
Belly tape measure: The Mommy Measure makes a super-cute keepsake one that allows you to record life events as the belly grows. And they come in boy, girl or gender-neutral colors.
Camelbak water bottle: For all the water you’re supposed to be drinking. Great for nursing and post-partum, too!

Awesome products. The Back Support: must have been so nice.
The belly tape measure is a super cute idea! I’ll keep that in mind for baby #2. =)
