It’s been a little over seven years since we’ve last seen “Magic: Mike Lane (Channing Tatum) grace the screen with his sweat and sexy dance moves. The film franchise gave audiences a new perspective on the lives of male strippers, proving that there’s more to men gyrating to Ginuwine’s “Pony.” And now, we will get to see how that story ends in the trilogy finale.
Tatum returns to reprise his character as “Magic” Mike Lane who is forced to return to male stripping after a business deal went bust. While he thought he left that world behind, it turns out maybe coming back could be the best thing for him as Salma Hayek’s character reignites his inner spark to recreate that magic for a new dance show one of the world’s biggest dance venues. “We’re going to wake them up with a wave of passion they’ve never felt before,” she promises.
As the trailer progress, it reveals itself to be more of a story that blends romance with some of that hot and sexy dance choreography that you might see in musicals like “All That Jazz.”
Honestly, it looks like “Magic Mike’s Last Dance,” might be the best of the three as it teases far more emotional depth than the previous two films that came before it. We will just have to wait and see if director Steven Soderberg can deliver. But there’s no doubt that there is an interest in the franchise as the first two films grossed over $290 million at the box office. That’s quite impressive for a movie about guys taking their shirts off.
“Magic Mike’s Last Dance” also stars Ayub Khan Din (“Ackley Bridge”), newcomer Jemelia George, Juliette Motamed (“We Are Lady Parts”) and Vicki Pepperdine (“Johnny English Strikes Again”).
Here’s the official plot synopsis for “Magic Mike’s Last Dance:”
“Magic” Mike Lane (Tatum) takes to the stage again after a lengthy hiatus, following a business deal that went bust, leaving him broke and taking bartender gigs in Florida. For what he hopes will be one last hurrah, Mike heads to London with a wealthy socialite (Hayek Pinault) who lures him with an offer he can’t refuse…and an agenda all her own. With everything on the line, once Mike discovers what she truly has in mind, will he—and the roster of hot new dancers he’ll have to whip into shape—be able to pull it off?
