Most moms like to accessorize their little girl’s hair with adorable clips, bows and hair ties. There’s just something about those little barrettes…they’re just too cute! I remember pulling back the smallest amount of my daughter’s hair with hair clips when she an infant. Sadly, she yanked them out.
I came across a company called Gum Drops Hair Candy on Twitter. I fell in love with their web site www.gumdropshaircandy.com. The design was sweet and the styles were delectable. Gum Drops Hair Candy was created in 2009 by So. Cal mom Anne Chung. Anne had a hard time finding unique but affordable “hair candy” (accessories) for her little girl. She decided to make her own and word caught on. Each piece is hand made and Anne loves retro bold colors & patterns from the 60’s and 70’s. She also gets ideas from Asian pop culture. I’m truly inspired by momprenuers who are successful at creating products that are inspired by their children.
First off, I have to say that the Gum Drops Hair Candy packaging impressed me! The hair clip arrived in a little canister with a tiny piece of paper candy adorning the top. Second, the products are high quality. The craftsmanship is superb and professional. We received a pink fuchsia silk pom-pom headband ($12). My daughter loves it. She regularly wears the headband and it compliments casual and formal fashions. We also received a felt hair clip ($8) in green and yellow. Very cute and it stays in place.
Unfortunately, we’ve had many hair clips fall apart. But the Gum Drop Hair Candy clips we received are sturdy and have shown no signs of wear. My daughter is now at an age where she loves dressing up her hair with clips and tries to apply them herself. I highly recommend Gum Drops Hair Candy for that sweet little girl in your life. The prices are competitive and there are plenty of lovely styles of hair clips, headbands, and ponytail holders to choose from.
