I’m all about simple cooking especially when I’m limited on time! I was thrilled to participate in Kraft Recipe Makers campaign for a few reasons: 1) I love exploring new products 2) I’m always trying to improve the flavor of the foods I prepare 3) It’s easy to use!!
BBQ is perfect any time of the year but it’s definitely a summer favorite PLUS my husband loves it. He’s the one ordering extra BBQ sauce at restaurants and state fairs. I knew that the The Hickory BBQ Recipe Maker was the perfect sauce to make pulled roast BBQ sandwiches for him. Combine the two sauces with two additional ingredients, Boneless Beef Chuck Roast and Sandwich buns. Easy peasy! This low stress recipe took very little preparation time. In the morning I threw in the roast into a crock pot as well as the Recipe Makers Brown Sugar & Cider Vinegar Simmer Sauce on low for about 9 hrs. Yes, I love out of site out of mind cooking. I can go about my day then come back to a tasty, tender culinary creation. YUM! Ok, back to my recipe. I transferred the meet to the cutting board after 9 hours. The tender meet easily pulled apart with two forks. After shredding, I returned the meat to the crock pot and added the Sweet Hickory Finishing Sauce. 15 minutes later my Hickory BBQ Beef sandwiches were ready to enjoy! Add french fries, a green salad, veggies or cole slaw to create an instant meal. I offered potato salad along with baby potatoes as sides. I tossed the potatoes in olive oil and baked for about 20 minutes. Again, easy!!
The only “con” to trying a new recipe is wondering how it will taste. I honestly can say that the sandwiches were delish! My husband was impressed by the savory taste and wanted to know more about Recipe Makers. My daughter actually liked eating the meat without her sandwich buns. She loved the sweet taste. I was extremely happy with the product and I’m already planning my next meal in my new favorite kitchen appliance (crock pot).
Kraft Recipe Makers is also available in seven varieties including New England Pot Roast, Tex Mex Chicken Fajita and Chicken Bruschetta Pasta. The product can be found at your favorite grocery store like VONS or Pavillions. The product may be located in the meat department on shelved racks or within the “Meal Starters” section aisle. I’m already planning out another meal using the Chicken Bruschetta Pasta sauce. Having Kraft Recipe Starters on hand will come in handy when you want that no fuss meal. You can choose from a variety of prep methods, including in a slow cooker, skillet or oven. Also, don’t throw the box away! Each box comes with two extra recipes which are found inside the box.
