Yesterday, Tee and I went to an event, hosted by Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Market, on the Queen Mary. The Queen Mary was a fabulous venue to host an event centered around holiday entertaining. We enjoyed sweeping views of a modern downtown Long Beach skyline, contrasting to the vintage decor on-board the Queen Mary.
Fresh & Easy is one of those stores that several of my friends swear by. I always considered it a bit too far of a drive for regular shopping. But after sampling their wine and freshly prepared side dishes, I’m actually planning my list to head over there next week!
We started off the evening with the Dreamstone Pink Moscato–this is a great choice if you enjoy really sweet wine! We also had to option to sample several of their other store offerings. Check out the poster below and the hard-to-believe price points of $4-$14!
My favorite was the Small Wonders Chardonnay. It’s fairly dry and went perfectly with all the appetizers we sampled below. My husband would say it is typical of me to like the most expensive one on the list. But at $14, I don’t think he’ll be too upset with me if I pick up a couple of bottles!
Of all the appetizers we had the chance to sample, my hands-down favorites were the Butternut Squash Risotto (46 oz., $7.99) and the Brie and Cranberry Pastry Puffs (12 count, $6.99). I think both items would be something my 4.5 year old and 21 month old would love, too! Both were served up crispy, right out of the oven and tasted so fresh. The Mini Beef en Croutes (12 count, $6.99) would be a hit my husband. I’ll be picking all these up for a party we’re hosting next week. Wondering where my food pictures are? It was so delicious I ate it up before the thought to take a picture even crossed my mind!
Snapz Photo Booth was also there providing entertainment. We had some fun dressing up for the camera!
Tee made the great call of this looking like our little girls playing dress-up with our sunglasses!
I was glad to have the opportunity to expand my foodie horizons! It’s great to have a local market that prepares fresh appetizers and side dishes the next time we’re hosting a party (or just planning a family meal). Their blog is also a great resource if you’re stumped (like I always am) on what to make for dinner. Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Markets are found in California, Nevada and Arizona. You can find one near you by visiting their website.
Make sure to check out the Fresh & Easy Holiday Guide for holiday meal ideas!
Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Market offers high quality freshly prepared appetizers and side dishes that are perfect for entertaining crowds or just your family. Next time you’re driving by, stop in and check it out. And if you’re not driving by, then make a special trip-you won’t be disappointed!
