This Food For Thought post is brought to you by The California Milk
Processor Board, California Dairy Farmers and The Motherhood.
All opinions are my own.
Did you know that millions of California families face hunger? And that number is growing due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Together, the California Milk Processor Board (the creators of got milk?/toma leche) and the California Milk Advisory Board, representing California dairy farm families, are partnering with Feeding America to help provide 1 million meals and 1 million servings of milk to feeding programs throughout California. The campaign is called “#FoodForThought” and it’s dedicated to highlighting acts of kindness while inspiring and encouraging others to give back to their community.
The #FoodforThought campaign wants to share the nourishment benefits of drinking milk, while also promoting a fun, social kindness activation.
Our family is joining this amazing initiative by gifting a package of milk and cookies/brownies to surprise two awesome members of our community. We encourage you to join us in both drinking milk, and spreading kindness across California.
When you share or engage with a message of positivity or act of kindness post on Instagram, tagging @gotmilk and using the hashtag #FoodForThought through Sept. 30, it will generate a donation towards the goal of 1 million meals. Share your act of kindness via the comments, and enter to win a $100 Visa Gift card. Don’t forget to tag @gotmilk and use #FoodForThought!
Here are some other creative kind ideas you can adopt.
Milk & Cookie Drop: Gift a package of milk and cookies to an unsuspecting and/or deserving recipient for the surprise-and-delight experience.
Meaningful Meals: Are you a foodie or love to cook? Create a comforting, home-cooked meal and deliver it to a neighbor or family in need. (And of course, with milk as the star ingredient!)
Food Bank Made Easy: Provide content for ways to incorporate Food Bank donations into every shopping trip, ways to get the neighborhood involved, how to get your kids to action, etc.
More feel-good information about #FoodForThought:
On Aug. 25, to launch the campaign with the first Food For Thought act of kindness at the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, ‘got milk?’ enlisted the help of actor, producer, director and father of three, Matt Bomer, and Brazilian-Mexican actor, television personality and father of two, Jaime Camil. Matt and Jaime joined got milk?/toma leche and California dairy farmers to shadow veteran volunteers for a behind-the-scenes look at the impactful and profound work happening at Feeding America member food banks. During their visit, they honored volunteers with a meal and special care package and presented a $300,000 donation to Feeding America from California dairy farmers to fund over 1 million servings of milk in California communities.

We like to share our blessings with people from our community by buying groceries and donating them to our Church food pantry so they can distribute it or by cooking meals for family and friends. Thanks for the chance to win!
