Looking for something cool for the kids? Chronicle Books is one of my favorite publishers and they offer a plethora of books for just about everyone. Not only does Chronicle offer distinctive books, they also offer calendars, attractive journals, stationary and more. All of which makes perfect gifts for any occasion!
The following can be found on Chronicle’s site. Love the variety of creative items that they offer:
MoMA Modern Play House – This tidy and compact kit allows the blooming designer or architect to be creative with this modern dollhouse . The kit includes: 6 nesting boxes, 8 mix-and-match furniture pieces, and 12 removable vinyl clings. Our goal is to find products that are conducive to our small living area. This kit can be played with on just about any surface in our house. Finished? Nest the boxes and put away until the next time. A little bit of creativity and imagination is enough to have fun with this minimalist play house.
Mini Lunch Notes – Add some flair to your child’s lunch. Mini Lunch Notes by Peagreen, is a pocket-sized kit that comes with 105 cards, 100+ stickers. Include a note in your child’s sandwich bag or lunchbox. I’m confident that your child will love your personal notes and knowing that you’re thinking of them. Don’t forget hubby. He might enjoy a note or two.
Day & Night – Pixar Animation Studios have developed some of the best computer-animated feature films. Toy Story, Up, The Incredibles and Finding Nemo are just a few of their amazing titles. But Pixar also creates fantastic short films and their newest is Day & Night. This short premiered with Toy Story 3 last summer and I was excited to find out that Chronicle Books published a picture book based on this film. The full-colored, 40-page hard covered book is by Teddy Newton. Teddy Newton is a Pixar artist and he created the characters in Day & Night. The characters are hard to explain but Day stumbles upon Night and it’s clear that they don’t care for each. They eventually learn to enjoy each other’s differences and they watch in awe as each takes turn showing their best within their body shapes. Their shapes come alive with night elements like the moon, fireworks and drive-ins and Day takes it’s turn to impresses us with visions of the sun, rainbows and summer beach days.
This book offers a lesson for every day life. People need to get over their fears and take a chance on something new. This book has a great message and is nice for readers and early/non-readers. I love to just skip over the words to create a storyline for my daughter. We also like reading the book to my daughter and using the words of the author. This would be the perfect book to accompany the Toy Story 3 Blu-ray/DVD Combo.
