Over 14,000 people gathered at Disneyland Resort to support the 2019 Choc “Walk In The Park!” I can’t think of a better place for this magical event to happen! Participants walk for one common goal- to support the well-being of SoCal Kids. This fundraiser is a wonderful opportunity for a community to come together as well as spend time in one of the most magical places. CHOC Children’s Hospital has provided life-saving medical treatments to Southern California kids for more than 50 years and continues to expand and grow in their mission. This year’s fundraising Choc Walk has raised over 2.5 million dollars and there’s still time to raise more. Fundraising continues until September 12, 2019 in hopes to reach their goal of $2.8 million
One special child and her family kicked off the walk on Main Street, USA in the Disneyland Resort. This year the ambassador is Ella Boyle. Ella was diagnosed with Stage1 Ewings Sarcom in 2016. Ella shared at the walk that Choc Children’s Hospital saved her life! She is now cancer free!! She represents all courageous children and families that are served by CHOC.
I am inspired by the teams of people who walk for loved ones and I’m always moved to see signs and t-shirts of the angels that can not be with us today but will be remembered for ever!
Consider participating next year! This is a rewarding moment especially when you see all the kids faces and know that you are making a difference! Walking through Disneyland is a special treat while our favorite Disney characters cheer on walkers. I love all the photo ops, and pre-opening celebration. Plus this year I walked with a wonderful group of friends as well as my daughter. It turned out to be a beautifully fulfilling day!
