The most difficult press conference to get into, of all the press conferences that are held the day before CES 2017 opens, is Samsung. There is always a long line and most of the time it gets filled to capacity or you get directed to the overflow room, which has a monitor to view it on. Since I already had a booth tour scheduled during CES, I opted to skip the press conference and wait until the tour to see the products announced.
Samsung New Products
• Samsung FlexWash + FlexDry. Both the wash and dryer have a separate top area that can handle smaller, delicate loads. These are engineered in a way that both loads can handle different fabric colors and types at the same time.
The Samsung AddWash was also on display with the additional, smaller door on the front.
• Samsung Family Hub 2.0 Refrigerator. This refrigerator has been given a few upgrades, the most important is probably the voice feature. You can talk to the fridge to play music, check on items in the fridge and order your groceries. The large digital pane on the door lets you view into the fridge without opening, as well as, a digital display for a calendar, notes, pictures, recipes and other things.
• Invisible Connection. This is a transparent Optical Cable that connects the TV to peripherals using a nearly invisible cord. It is 18mm, can cover up to 49ft and transmits 4K content without any image loss.
• Smart TV services. There are 3 of these that have been introduced by Samsung: Sports, Music and TV Plus. Sports service will keep track of when your favorite team is playing and where you can watch them. Music service is something like Shazam, which can help identify, recommend or play songs. TV Plus is partnered with Fandango to provide premium movie and tv show content to viewers.
One television was geared for gaming, especially if you play on Steam. This TV lets you link your PC to it allowing you to play your game onto a larger screen.
