If you know me, you know that I have an affinity for donuts as well as cute stuff. I can’t think of a sweeter partnership than the one between the adorable iconic Care Bears and L.A. staple- California Donuts! The two brands are turning 35th this year and you can celebrate this momentous occasion with them starting on National Donut Day this Friday, June 2. For a limited time, guests can enjoy a yummy Care Bear themed donut beginning June 2 through September 9. September 9 happens to be Care Bears’ annual “Share Your Care Day” holiday.
The Care Bears were first introduced by American Greetings- what started as a greeting card line, turned into a successful TV show. Love-a-lot Bear and Cheer Bear were definitely a part of my childhood and it’s fun to share these lovable characters with my daughter. They’re even on Netflix if you want to introduce your kids to them! We were happy to attend a donut tasting in honor of Care Bears X California Donuts and devour one of their limited-run donuts. We were greeted by a sweet aroma of fresh baked donuts while swimming in Care Bear merchandise. Look at this fabulous Care Bear rug!! We finally made it over to the tasting table. The donuts are almost too cute to eat! Choose from five different colors. The glazed donut was fluffy and tasty and covered with a white chocolate icing.I think my favorite was the sparkly purple sprinkled one. It’s definitely eye-catching! You just want to tell Grumpy Bear to lighten up!!
California Donuts is open 24 hours and located on the busy corner of 3rd and New Hampshire and is solely family owned. They also have croissants, baked goods, and beverages on their menu. Show this local business that you care!
