Friendship Day is a time to honor special relationships we hold near and dear to our hearts. While this year’s celebration will be a little different due to the ongoing pandemic, Likewise – the Bill Gates-backed social recommendation and entertainment app – is here to help with curated lists of movies, television shows, books and podcasts (below) that honor friendships we’ve come to know and love. From I Love You Man to The Golden Girls, Likewise, has you covered with options to keep you and your BFFs connected even while distant.
Basically, Likewise lets users track and recommend their favorite media content from books and film to TV shows and podcasts. Then, based on those tracked preferences and recommendations, Likewise will offer other content users might want to consider listening, watching, or reading.
Likewise also polled its users asking, “what iconic friend groups do you and your besties relate to most?” Currently, Friends and Stranger Things are tied with the most popular friendships, each gathering 21% of the overall vote. Rounding out the top 5 are The Big Bang Theory (13%), That 70’s Show (13%), and Seinfeld (9%). Additionally, Likewise users were asked, “what is your favorite movie to watch with your best friend?” Avengers: Endgame is currently the frontrunner.
The Bill Gates-backed app will be very helpful during the pandemic that highly encourages social distancing. So in a time where we cannot be with our friends physically, and it is unclear when it will end, we can still feel like we are together by using Likewise.
Recently, Likewise TV was added to Android TV, Amazon Fire TV, and Apple TV platforms, making it easier for users to seamlessly access content and their ever-growing watchlist across their favorite streaming services.
