One of the longest running comic series in history is getting reimagined for 2015 and just in time for it’s 75th anniversary.
Everyone’s favorite red-headed teen and his friends from Riverdale gets relaunched in Archie #1 next year, helmed by best-selling creators Mark Waid (DC’s Kingdom Come) and Fiona Staples (Saga). The new series updates them into the present day with a fresh, modern look and feel.
The beginnings of the love triangle between Archie, Betty and Veronica, as well as, the origin of Archie will be stories within the series.
In the past few years, Archie Comics has been reenergized with The Married Life, The Death of Archie and Afterlife with Archie.
To help celebrate the 75th anniversary of Archie a new one-hour drama, designer apparel and products will be released next year and into early 2016. Riverdale will be written by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa based on the Archie characters and will debut on Fox. Marc Eckō will produce a line of Archie themed apparel for men, from teens to adults.
