The pandemic may have thrown a few major theatrical releases off schedule, but it is starting to look like things are returning to normal with some studios opting to do simultaneous releases in theaters and on their respective streaming platforms. One such film is the new “Clifford The Big Red Dog.” This new telling centers on Emily Elizabeth (Darby Camp) who is gifted Clifford. But when she discovers that Clifford goes through a growth spurt, she and her uncle (Jack Whitehall) set out to take a bit of the Big Red Apple.
Honestly, “Clifford the Big Red Dog” looks like a great way to spend time with family. It wholesome good-natured entertainment should be enough to keep the young ones laughing while also learning, as the following plot synopsis will put it, “how to love big.” And isn’t that something we could all use right now given what we’ve all been through for the past year and a half?

When middle-schooler Emily Elizabeth (Darby Camp) meets a magical animal rescuer (John Cleese) who gifts her a little, red puppy, she never anticipated waking up to find a giant ten-foot hound in her small New York City apartment. While her single mom (Sienna Guillory) is away for business, Emily and her fun but impulsive uncle Casey (Jack Whitehall) set out on an adventure that will keep you on the edge-of-your-seat as our heroes take a bite out of the Big Apple. Based on the beloved Scholastic book character, Clifford will teach the world how to love big!
