Netflix’s “Fear Street Part 1: 1994” makes its streaming debut this Friday. It’s part of a bloody new trilogy of films inspired by R.L. Stine. But you better raise your horror expectations if you are expecting to see some soft adaptation of one of his YA novels. Instead, the trilogy looks to be a fine tribute to all things horror. And Netflix has released a five-minute sneak peek of the film, which sees Maya Hawke as one of the film’s first victims of the masked killer.
We won’t spoil more than that, based on the first five minutes, it looks like “Fear Street Part 1: 1994” lives up to all the early positive reviews. Hopefully, that means the entire trilogy is just as fun.
“Fear Street Part 1: 1994” hits Netflix on July 2; with “Fear Street Part 2: 1978,” arriving on July 9, followed by “Fear Street Part 3: 1666” being released on July 16. It’s going to be a great summer for horror fans, that’s for sure.
