Samsung held their press conference at the all virtual 2021 CES in January. Their press conference focused on a couple of appliances, interactivity and robotics.
The home kitchen has been redefined by a new refrigerator designed for you, by you. Express your unique style with the BESPOKE 4-Door Flex refrigerator. Choose from eight different colors and two finishes. Mix and match freezer and unit combinations to expand the versatility. Some of the features include:
– The Beverage Center™. Provides filtered water in, either an internal water dispenser or clear-view, built-in AutoFill Water Pitcher.
– Dual Ice Maker. Produces ice cubes or small Ice Bites (new nugget ice).
– FlexZone, Flex Crisper and Crisper+. Flexible and temperature controlled storage for meat, fish, fruits and vegetables.
These new BESPOKE refrigerators have a very clean and sleek design that reminds me of Mondrian, as the panels are solid colors and modular.
Also following this design is the BESPOKE Cube, Samsung’s new air purifier. The Cube will be available in four colors and two patterns. It features:
– Multi-Step Purification System to remove allergens, toxic gases and dust particles from the air.
– Wind-Free Air purification system that is whisper quiet.
– Units can be stacked for larger spaces.
– Air quality sensors.
You can also control the Cube and monitor the air quality in your home using the SmartThings app from your smartphone.
Samsung has not only introduced a new design to their refrigerators with BESPOKE, but they are always updating their other appliances with further innovations. The new 8800 Series Smart Dial Front Load washers and dryers have been updated to make laundry easier.
– Smart Dial learns preferred cycles and settings, recommends specific cycles and learns from past cycles, and has an easy to use control panel.
– OptiWash feature detects the laundry load’s weight and can determine the ideal amount of water and detergent to use due to its Turbidity Sensor.
Use the SmartThings app to receive cycle alerts, schedule your cycles, and control your washes remotely right from your smartphone.
Family Hub™ has added the SmartThings Cooking feature that was available in the SmartThings app. SmartThings Cooking can guide you through recipes, from prep to cooking. It syncs with all your Samsung cooking devices and can send the recipe instructions to them. It can recommend meal plans based on your tastes and preferences. You can also conveniently order your groceries through the Family Hub as well.
This smart vacuum can double as a security or pet camera. JetBot AI+ uses a LiDAR sensor, similar to ones used in self-driving cars to navigate your home, detecting distance and location. It even has a 3D sensor to recognize objects and recognizes a room’s shape to maneuver around it. Once it has finished cleaning, it will return to the Clean Station to empty and recharge itself. JetBot AI+ will not only keep your floors clean, but you can also use the built-in camera to monitor your home when paired with Samsung’s SmartThings app.
It can be tough working from home and this robotic assistant could be just what people need. The AI of the Samsung Bot Care is designed to recognize and respond to your behavior. Need an extra hand around the house, setting the table or putting dishes in the dishwasher? Then you need Samsung’s Bot Handy. The AI of this one-armed bot can identify objects and calculate the correct amount of force to use when picking them up. It has the ability to pour wine into a glass, putting dirty dishes into a dishwasher and other tasks. Like many of Samsung’s bots, it also has a black display with eyes that blink to give it some character.
Both of these Samsung Bots are still in the developmental stages and are not yet available.
Coming later this spring is the new Samsung 110-inch MICRO LED television, which replaces the backlight, and features 24 million self-lit LEDs for better picture control. The Infinity Screen design is slim and nearly bezel-less. The Four-way viewing option, “4Vue” (Quad View), lets you watch, play and stream multiple sports, shows and games at once.
Samsung has announced an update to its Galaxy Upcycling program called Galaxy Upcycling at Home. The new program reimagines the lifecycle of an older Galaxy phone and offers consumers options on how they might be able to repurpose their device to create a variety of convenient IoT tools.
