Fans of Marvel Studios are tuning in every Friday to see new episodes of “WandaVision,” the first cinematic longform MCU series for Disney+. We don’t know much about it because much of the show is wrapped in a shroud, or should I say pixels of mystery. When we last left the show, Monica Rambeau or Geraldine (Teyonah Parris) was ejected out of the sitcom world of Westview and transported back to the real world. There Jimmy Woo (Randall Park) and SWORD (which stands for Sentient Weapon Observation and Response Division) observe all of the strange activity that’s going on surrounding Wanda.
Marvel has released a new clip from the show that tells us that not all is at it seems in Westview – of course, there were so many clues that already told us that. But this is the first time we see the show in the existing MCU and not some parallel sitcom universe.
What will be interesting to see is if the show addresses how Monica got into sitcom Westview. This clip may hint at how Monica finds her way into the sitocm Westview. In it, she reaches out and is puzzled by the energy barrier that separates her from Wanda. And it also confirms that the voice coming asking who was doing “this” to Wanda was Jimmy Woo. We also get a quick look at Darcy (Kat Dennings) who is also observing for SWORD.
The closing seconds of episode three of “WandaVision” tell us that subsequent episodes won’t spend their entirety in this fantasy sitcom world that doesn’t function anything like the real world. The show skips decades and goes through pregnancies in a 22-minute runtime.

Marvel Studios’ “WandaVision” is a blend of classic television and the Marvel Cinematic Universe in which Wanda Maximoff and Vision—two super-powered beings living idealized suburban lives—begin to suspect that everything is not as it seems.
But the real question is not so much of who is doing this to Wanda but why is Wanda doing this to herself. Clearly she is in control of this world being able to manipulate it by rewinding time like she did in episode 2 or ejecting Monica after asking a startling question about Wanda’s brother, Pietro. I can honestly see how the series is more about how Wanda chooses to live in a life of sitcom fantasy rather than confront the traumas of losing her brother and her beloved. Of course, it will only be a matter of time until it all comes crashing down and she has to deal with the reality of the situation. When that time comes remains to be seen. But that is all just speculation on my part. Guess that’s what makes this mystery so much fun to watch.
