Cotton Candy Grape Sorbet recipe
Cotton candy is the perfect summertime flavor. The scent brings me back to fun times at amusement parks and local carnivals and fairs. Recently, I discovered cotton candy grapes! Unfortunately, they are hard to come by so it’s always exciting when I stumble upon them during the summer at the market.
Melissa’s Produce gifted us a bag of cotton candy grapes but they never last long! To mix things up, my daughter and I made a cotton candy grape sorbet with them. It’s simple to make. I used my Tovolo ice cream container to store the sorbet. I also mixed in pieces of Korean melon to add a nice, mild cantaloupe flavor.
Let’s get sorbeting – Wash your grapes, remove each one from their stems, and then place the grapes into a freezer bag or container and freeze until solid. If you can’t find cotton candy grapes at your local market, use regular green grapes as an alternative. They not as sweet but homemade sorbet can be made with several types of fruits, and I love fusing different flavors. Melissas also provides Korean melons (which I love) so I added a few slices of it.
Add your grapes, with your choice of sweetener, into a food processor and blend until smooth. Viola! A Refreshing dessert on a warm afternoon.
What you need for your Cotton Candy Grape sorbet:
- 3 cups of frozen cotton candy grapes
- 2-3 slices of Korean melon (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon of honey or agave ( sugar works)
If you aren’t up for sorbet. Frozen cotton candy grapes on their own are a delicious icy treat. I promise it will satisfy your sweet cravings! Just keep in mind this charming fruit has more sugar than regular grapes.
