Streaming services are proving to be a great place to watch exclusive and original content that otherwise wouldn’t be released in a theater, at the comfort of your own home. Disney has just released the first trailer for Oscar-winning Tom McCarthy’s (Spotlight) film adaptation of Timmy Failure: Mistakes Were Made, which will be streamed exclusively on Disney+. Based on Stephan Pastis’ book series of the same name, the film follows an inscrutable young boy named Timmy Failure (Winslow Fegley) and his 1,500-pound polar bear partner Total. Together, the two operate Total Failure Inc., a detective agency located in Portland, Oregon.
While Timmy Failure: Mistakes Were Made may look a bit odd, the quirky and whimsy tone seen in a trailer makes it very appealing to watch. It looks fun and something refreshing when compared to the traditional Disney film that are released by the Mouse House.
Additionally, Timmy Failure: Mistakes Were Made will be making its premiere at the “Kids” section of the Sundance Film Festival later this month. Created especially for the younger independent film fans, the “Kids” section is programmed in cooperation with Utah Film Center, which presents the annual Tumbleweeds Film Festival, Utah’s premiere film festival for children and youth. The Sundance Film Festival runs from January 23–February 2, 2020.
