I love Dr. Seuss! So I jumped at the chance to celebrate his 115th birthday with Carnival Cruise Line. On March 2nd the Boys and Girls Club of Long Beach as well as celebrity Joey Fatone boarded the Carnival Splendor for an afternoon of activities, story time and entertainment. The highlight was a presentation of a $10,000 check from Carnival Cruise Line to the Boys and Girls Club of Long Beach!
Boys and Girls Club Branch Director Minh Luu, Singer Joey Fatone, Carnival Cruise Line Representative Kendall Magyar and Boys and Girls Club Area Director Araceli King accepted a $10,000 check given by Carnival Cruise Line. Then singer Joey Fatone (did you watch him on the Masked Singer?) took the “Seuss-a-palooza Story Time” stage to read Horton Hears a Who for all the attendees! Dr. Seuss is a household name and his books were a part of my daughter’s library so were already familiar with the story.
Did you know that Carnival’s Splendor offers Dr. Seuss themed family entertainment/food? The kids in attendance were quite hungry after story time so we all headed over to the Black Pearl Restaurant. The restaurant offers a GREEN EGGS AND HAM BREAKFAST that is decorated with a fun Cat in the Hat ice sculpture, cut outs of The Cat in the Hat. I loved the decorations on the table! How cute are these napkins and center pieces?
The special menu has fun Dr. Seuss offerings such as Dr. Seuss’ A-B-Cereal, Truffula Tree Pancakes and of course- “Do you like Green Eggs and Ham?” It wouldn’t be a Dr. Seuss menu without Green Eggs and Ham!!
Wash this all down with Moose Juice (O.J.).
During the meal, grab your child’s autograph pamphlet as characters walk around the dining room for photo ops and stamps!
We explored the Splendor after the event and I was envious that the incoming guests were embarking on a journey to Mexico for a few days. There are a ton of amenities including pools, sport deck, splash park, jogging track, spa, and so much more!
