There’s a whale of a tale coming to big screens next March. “In the Heart of the Sea” tells the true story of a New England whaling ship, the Essex, that encounters a gigantic whale that seems to have a human capacity for vengeance. The events and author Herman Melville’s fascination with the story, were what inspired him to write “Moby-Dick.”
The movie stars Chris Hemsworth (“The Avengers,” “Rush”) as the vessel’s veteran first mate Owen Chase; Benjamin Walker (“Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter”) as its inexperienced Captain, George Pollard; Cillian Murphy (“The Dark Knight Rises”) as second mate Matthew Joy; and Ben Whishaw (“Skyfall”) as novelist Herman Melville, whose inquiries into the event 30 years later helped bring the story to light. Ron Howard is the director.
Visit the movie’s website to learn more at http://www.warnerbros.com/ and watch the trailer. That was nail-biting enough for me. I can only imagine how exciting the entire movie will be when it opens March, 2015. The film is rated PG-13.
