Disney’s acquisitions over the past decade have opened the door wide open for some creative corporate synergy. And “The Simpsons” are a product of that as IPs like “Star Wars” has crossed over into Springfield. Now, it is happening again. But this time it’s happening with Disney+’s “Loki.” The God of Mischief may have found himself on the run from the Time Variance Authority in his titular show, but he may be facing his most challenging adversary in The Good, The Bart and The Loki, a new shortcoming exclusively to Disney+.
According to the press release, Tom Hiddleston reprises his role as Loki, but in Simpsons form, for the new Marvel-themed short from “The Simpsons” premiering Wednesday, July 7. In the new shortcoming exclusively to Disney+, Loki is banished from Asgard once again and must face his toughest opponents yet: the Simpsons and Springfield’s mightiest heroes. The God of Mischief teams up with Bart Simpson in the ultimate crossover event paying tribute to the Marvel Cinematic Universe of Super Heroes and villains.
As you might expect, the short will be more of an homage to all things Marvel Cinematic Universe while also being contained within Springfield. And it couldn’t come at a more perfect time as “The Good, The Bart, and The Loki,” makes its streaming debut on the same day as a new episode of “Loki,” and just a few days short of the release of “Black Widow.” If anything, this means we get to see even more of Hiddleston as Loki, even if that takes place within the animation. And, as with all things Marvel, we probably should expect some surprises and a few cameos.
No doubt putting mischievous people together in the same room can result in disaster. Maybe even some cataclysm. We will just have to wait and see.

“The Good, The Bart, and The Loki” is the second in a series of Disney+ shorts from “The Simpsons” that highlight the service’s marquee brands and titles. The previously released Star Wars-themed short “Maggie Simpson in ‘The Force Awakens from Its Nap’” is now streaming on Disney+.
