PBS Kids, the most trusted name in helping parents make learning fun, has a whole new way to introduce preschool to primary elementary school kids to math, with everyone’s favorite hat-wearing cat. THE CAT IN THE HAT KNOWS A LOT ABOUT THAT: Math Safari is a series of free online math games that are mobile-friendly for learning on the go. Now that trip to the grocery store can actually be enjoyable for both of you!
THE CAT IN THE HAT KNOWS A LOT ABOUT THAT: Math Safari connects players with Nick, Sally and the Cat in the Hat as they jump aboard the Thinga-ma-jigger and play their way through a series of nine different curriculum games. When games are completed, there are printable coloring pages for the “My Animal Book” that can be unlocked to extend the adventure. The games incorporate skills such as spatial sense, geometry, number sense, counting, estimation, measurement and data collection, all essential math skills as children grow in their learning.
This program is available for home use, but teaches of primary students will love the connections to the Common Core Standards for our youngest learners. With the push to combine math and reading skills, PBS Kids has proven they are always more than willing and able to pool their vast resources to encourage learning.
